BIOGRAPHY

My name is Hsiang-Cheng(Sam) Wang. I started Toys@Work simply to share office playthings that I saw on the market that I thought was fun. When I started the research of office toys in my graduate years, I always felt that there was a disconnect between what office toys can bring to the adult and what kind of features that attracted our eyes.
Shortly after I finished my military service, I began focusing more on office toy market and trends. I didn’t want to become a “Office Toy Reviewer ” but I knew somehow that my loves of interesting fun ideas and joyful office playthings would eventually merge. I just never guessed it would be in the form of like Toys@Work.
I thought I could illustrate playthings on the market the way people appreciate toys, and get and give inspiration to lots of designers in the process. My only strategy when I began Toys@Work was to try and show good office toys in a way that I knew most designers hunted for inspiration in other office toys or adult target product that shares the same spirits in office toys. Rarely do they look at the whole plaything as a cool or boring but to try and look for the abstract concepts of what makes this product attractive, the process of stress relieving , idea mixing or mixed genres. I’m always really happy when I meet some people who are interested in the development of office toys and hear that they've come up with a better office toys idea for their product line. At the same time I’m also really touched when I get emails from people who say they have been inspired to see themselves in a new and usually more pleasant working mood.
I was born in Taiwan went to college at JUST majoring in Applied English and got my master degree in Industrial Design at NYUST. Toys@Work has combined the two of my interest and grown so much in just a year and I could not be more thrilled by the community that it has created and the wonderful associations I have been able to create. I hope everyone could enjoy each playthings in Toys@Work and come by every once a while for pleasure.
